Basketball Recap: Escalante Takes a Loss

Escalante was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 51-14 loss at the hands of the Questa Wildcats. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lobos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-22 two weeks ago.

It was another big night for Alyse Lovato, who posted 23 points and three steals for Questa. Lovato is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. Kamryn Cardenas was another key player, putting up three points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Escalante's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Questa, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Escalante is taking a road trip to take on McCurdy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Questa, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Questa Wildcats take on the Penasco Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Questa's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Penasco has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
