Basketball Game Preview: LaFayette Bulldogs vs. Valley Rams

LaFayette hasn't had much luck against Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The LaFayette Bulldogs will face off against the Valley Rams at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in LaFayette's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.

Last Tuesday, LaFayette humbled Reeltown with a 75-27 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 25 points or more this season.

Valley fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They secured a 54-49 W over Elmore County on Thursday.

Valley's win came from a few key players LaFayette will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Azerion Jennings, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Weaver, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

LaFayette's record now sits at 11-9. As for Valley, their record now sits at 4-9.

LaFayette beat Valley 49-38 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for LaFayette since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
