Softball Preview: Boone Central Meets O'neill

Boone Central has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the O'Neill Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Saturday, Boone Central came up short against Polk County and fell 6-2.

Boone Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Thieman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 while posting 1 home run, 2 runs, and 1 double. The game also marked Thieman's ninth in a row with at least one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when O'Neill challenged Pierce on Thursday. The Eagles took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bluejays.

Boone Central's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for O'Neill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's taken a bite out of their 3-8 record this season.
