Recap: Clinton Red Devils vs. Chester Cyclones

Make it eight blowout wins for the Clinton Red Devils this season. They blew past Chester 58-30 at home. The win was nothing new for Clinton as they're now sitting on four straight.

Clinton found their leader in underclassman Mylayja Thompson, who scored 11 points along with eight steals and six assists. Thompson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bryanna Belton, who scored nine points along with four steals.

Clinton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Chester, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Clinton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Woodruff at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Hopefully Woodruff focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Wednesday. As for Chester, they will head out on the road to face off against Fairfield Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfield Central has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
