Softball Recap: Fullington Academy Trojans vs. Tiftarea Academy Panthers
Fullington Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past the Tiftarea Academy Panthers 19-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Fullington Academy got a massive performance out of Evelyn Fletcher, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Rose Nipper, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and a run.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fullington Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The last time their batting average was this high was back in August of 2023.
Fullington Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Citizens Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tiftarea Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Stratford Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
