Softball Recap: Kingstree Falls to Marion in First Game of Season

Kingstree had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Marion Swamp Foxes on Friday, falling 16-2. The Blazers have struggled against the Swamp Foxes recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Lorashjer Cooper made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-1. The team also got some help courtesy of Harmony Mosley, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

With the victory, Marion broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Kingstree will head out on the road to face off against Lake City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Lake City's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Marion, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Mullins at 6:30 p.m.
