Softball Recap: Western Beaver Comes Up Short

Western Beaver fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Upper St. Clair on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Upper St. Clair Panthers by a score of 6-5.

Izzie Lefebvre (2025) spent all 8.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Kaitlyn Zele (2025) was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. Bella Colatriano (2026) was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-5.

Western Beaver's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Upper St. Clair, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, Western Beaver will head out on the road to take on Montour at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Upper St. Clair, they will challenge New Castle at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
