Baseball Recap: Masuk Has No Trouble Against Weston

Masuk never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Weston Trojans 11-0. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Not much got past Jacob Mondo, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Weston off the board. Mondo has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Christopher Cascella and Steven Curtin did most of the damage at the plate: Cascella went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Curtin went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two runs gave Cascella a new career-high. Jersen Perez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Masuk's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7. As for Weston, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
