Basketball Game Preview: Plains Cowboys vs. Smyer Bobcats

The Plains Cowboys will face off against the Smyer Bobcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Smyer took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Plains, who comes in off a win.

Plains will bounce into Friday's game after beating Ropes, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Plains snuck past Ropes with a 54-49 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cowboys.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Smyer took on New Deal on Tuesday. Smyer took a 66-48 bruising from New Deal. The loss continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost five in a row.

Plains has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Smyer, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-7.

Plains didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Smyer when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 48-44 win. Does Plains have another victory up their sleeve, or will Smyer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
