Basketball Game Preview: Tulia Hornets vs. Childress Bobcats

The Tulia Hornets will square off against the Childress Bobcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.

Tulia is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 58 points on Saturday, they were much more limited against Canadian on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 93-25. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1080th, while the Wildcats are ranked 67th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Childress duked it out withRiver Road on Tuesday. Childress breezed by River Road to the tune of 62-34. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bobcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Childress' win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-18. As for Tulia, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

Tulia might still be hurting after the 50-28 defeat they got from Childress when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Tulia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
