Basketball Recap: Riverwood's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Riverwood was the 65-58 winner over Sprayberry when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Riverwood Raiders took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets. The Raiders' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Riverwood still got an impressive performance from Jr Leonard, who went 11 of 26 on his way to 39 points. That was a full 68.4% of Riverwood's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Justin Stewart, who scored six points and 15 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Riverwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 23 consecutive games.

Riverwood's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Sprayberry, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-9.
