Basketball Recap: Ricardo Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis over Liberty Christian Academy

Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Christian Academy Eagles on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 77-37 back in December of 2024.

Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ricardo Jones, who posted 21 points and four steals. That was a full 53.8% of Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis' points, marking the 23rd time in a row Jones has earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Hardy, who had eight points along with 13 boards and five steals.

Liberty Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Phoenix Obermann out in front who went 9-for-17 en route to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Willy Mueller, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 rebounds.

Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis' loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis has already played their next game, a 65-45 defeat against Berean Christian Academy on the 13th. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-31 victory against Heritage Classical Christian Academy on the 6th.
