Basketball Recap: Raton Takes a Loss

Raton had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 4-16 to make it six. They were beaten by the Santa Rosa Lions 59-6. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

As for Santa Rosa, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santa Rosa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Willow Johnson, who posted 14 points. Angelina Enciso was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Raton has already played their next game, a 62-31 defeat against Estancia on the 7th. As for Santa Rosa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 55-45 loss against Clayton on the 7th.
