Preview: Spencer County Bears vs. DeSales Colts
The Spencer County Bears's road trip will continue as they head out to face the DeSales Colts at 4:30 p.m. on December 9th. Spencer County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully DeSales likes a good challenge.
Spencer County pushed their score all the way to 81 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Taylor County by a score of 83-81.
Despite the loss, Spencer County had strong showings from Camden Cox, who went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 3 assists, and Luke Erhardt, who scored 31 points. Erhardt scored a full 38.3% of Spencer County's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Keaton Baird was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, DeSales beat Shabach Christian Academy 59-54 on Sunday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for DeSales.
With Spencer County's win and Taylor County's loss, both teams now sport identical 2-1 records.
Spencer County skirted past DeSales 67-65 in their previous matchup back in December of 2016. Will Spencer County repeat their success, or does DeSales have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
