Recap: James Island Trojans vs. Lucy Beckham Bengals
The James Island Trojans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 24-13 victory over Lucy Beckham. That result was just more of the same for these two, as James Island also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Leading James Island to victory were Junior Maxwell and Amontrae Scott. Maxwell rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns, while Scott rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Despite the loss, Lucy Beckham still got an impressive performance from Stephen Segars, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown.
James Island's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 10-0. As for Lucy Beckham, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. James Island will take on Wilson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilson comes in on a streak of failing to score more than three points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Lucy Beckham, they will be playing at home against West Florence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
