            Baseball Recap: Troy-Buchanan Trojans vs. Fort Zumwalt East Lions        
        
		
        
        
            Troy-Buchanan extended their losing streak  to three  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 8-9 in the process. They fell  3-0 to the Fort Zumwalt East Lions. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in May of 2019.
 Troy-Buchanan got a good showing from  Braden Cox, who   tossed four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits.
As for Fort Zumwalt East, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.
On Fort Zumwalt East's side,  the result came thanks to  Dominic Pandolfo's shutout, as he gave up just a  hit and racked up 11 Ks. Pandolfo has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Fort Zumwalt East's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Travis Hill, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  run.
 Coming up, Troy-Buchanan will host Fort Zumwalt West  at 4:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Fort Zumwalt East, they will venture away from home to  face off against Timberland  at 2:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
