Baseball Game Preview: Forest Hills Rangers vs. Central Cambria Red Devils

The Forest Hills Rangers will face off against the Central Cambria Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Forest Hills fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Derry on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. That's two games in a row now that the Rangers have lost by exactly three runs.

Koy McGough made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Layne Sivec was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Central Cambria made easy work of Cambria Heights on Friday and carried off a 16-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won six in a row.

Alex Wingard looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rocco Barra, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JD Brouse, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Central Cambria always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cambria Heights only posted an OBP of .290.
