Softball Recap: All Saints' Academy Has No Trouble Against Discovery

There's no place like home for All Saints' Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Discovery Spartans 19-1 on Thursday. That looming 19-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Saints yet this season.

Skylynn Gaskin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Sarah Dugger was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Bowman, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

All Saints' Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .818. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win snapped All Saints' Academy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-7 record. As for Discovery, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road.

All Saints' Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 20-2 defeat against Mulberry on the 8th. As for Discovery, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-0 loss against Lake Gibson on the 8th.
