Basketball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

Skyline extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 4-7. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Oakwood Academy Mustangs an easy 83-61 win. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-51 back in November.

As for Oakwood Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-8. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Oakwood Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Gideon, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 18 points. The game was Gideon's third in a row with at least 15 points. Jaiden Morton was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Coming up, Skyline will be taking part in a tournament against Cumberland County at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Jets have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. Oakwood Academy will take on Athens in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
