Basketball Recap: Orange Comes Up Short

Orange was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 65-13 loss at the hands of the Harding Raiders. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-7.

Leading Harding to victory were Akeelha Barnes and Ja'Leah Provitt. Barnes almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Provitt dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. Provitt has become a key player for Harding: the team is 5-1 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 7-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Vashae' Brown, who posted six points and five steals.

Orange's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Harding, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-9.

Orange wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-44 win against Beachwood on the 10th. As for Harding, they have also already played their next match, a 39-20 victory against Garfield Community Learning Center on the 10th.
