Volleyball Recap: Clear Creek Wildcats vs. Manvel Mavericks
Clear Creek kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 3-0 to the Manvel Mavericks. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Mavericks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Clear Creek was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, 25-18.
Mia Eason paced Clear Creek's offense, picking up eight kills. Eason got some help from Camdyn Cole and her 21 assists. Chloe Sievert controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Manvel was led to victory by Sami Guikema and Nevaeh English. Guikema had seven digs and two aces, while English had two blocks and one assist. That's the most blocks English has posted since back in September of 2024.
Looking ahead, Clear Creek will challenge Cypress Lakes at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday. As for Manvel, they will be taking part in a tournament against McKinney at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday.
