Basketball Recap: Hope Academy Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Hope Academy kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Eustis Panthers and fell 90-21. The Trojan were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Hope Academy still got an impressive performance from Nehemiah Raphael, who posted 12 points.

Eustis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eric Glover, who made all 7 shots he took to post 17 points. Another player making a difference was Nyree Scarlett, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 15 points.

Hope Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-49 defeat against IMG Academy Black on the 19th. As for Eustis, they will take on Vanguard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
