Baseball Game Preview: Dorchester Academy Raiders vs. Northwood Academy Chargers

The Dorchester Academy Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Northwood Academy Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northwood Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Dorchester Academy, who comes in off a win.

Dorchester Academy took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Andrew Jackson Academy 13-3. The high-scoring effort was just what the Raiders needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Meanwhile, Northwood Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Academic Magnet, falling 11-1.

Northwood Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Welch, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Dorchester Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Northwood Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16-1.

Dorchester Academy skirted past Northwood Academy 8-7 when the teams last played on April 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
