Baseball Game Preview: Andover Central Jaguars vs. Eisenhower Tigers

The Andover Central Jaguars will head out to face off against the Eisenhower Tigers on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Andover Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Goddard on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-3 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Eisenhower got themselves on the board against Salina Central on Friday, but Salina Central never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 9-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won eight in a row.

Eisenhower pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Andover Central, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1.

Andover Central took their victory against Eisenhower when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
