Volleyball Recap: La Junta Comes Up Short + How To Watch

La Junta came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Salida Spartans, falling 3-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While La Junta ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-21.

Kolbi Engebrecht paced La Junta's offense, picking up seven kills. Engebrecht got some help from Gabrielle Ojeda and her 14 assists.

Madisyn Wilcox had a dynamite game For Salida., getting eight digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Wilcox a new career-high. Cooper Fisher was another key player, getting nine digs and two aces.

La Junta's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Salida, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3.
