Softball Recap: East Hampton Comes Up Short

East Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cromwell Panthers. The Bellringers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Amelia Chrin was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Shea Gaughran, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

East Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Cromwell, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

East Hampton has already played their next match, a 6-4 loss against Haddam-Killingworth on the 8th. Cromwell has also already played their next contest (against East Haven), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
