Basketball Game Preview: Miami Springs Golden Hawks vs. Coral Park Rams

The Miami Springs Golden Hawks and the Coral Park Rams will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Miami Springs is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Miami Springs came up short against North Miami Beach and fell 59-46.

Meanwhile, Coral Park also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Belen Jesuit by a score of 61-52. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Miami Springs will need focus on slowing down Angel Lara, one of several Coral Park players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points along with seven boards and five assists. Lara is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alejandro Camacho, who went 6 of 9 en route to 15 points.

Even though they lost, Coral Park was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Coral Park's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Miami Springs, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Miami Springs strolled past Coral Park in their previous meeting back in January of 2021 by a score of 49-33. Will Miami Springs repeat their success, or does Coral Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
