Basketball Recap: Culpeper County Takes a Loss

Culpeper County lost against James Monroe back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Culpeper County Blue Devils came up short against the James Monroe Yellow Jackets, falling 81-61.

Culpeper County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for James Monroe, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Culpeper County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against King George at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Culpeper County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully King George likes a good challenge. As for James Monroe, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Eastern View at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastern View will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something James Monroe surely won't give up without a fight.
