Baseball Game Preview: Coatesville Red Raiders vs. Unionville Longhorns

The Coatesville Red Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Unionville Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coatesville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Coatesville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over Bishop Shanahan on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Red Raiders, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Unionville came into Monday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Great Valley 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Longhorns have posted since May 14, 2024.

Nate Bonsall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Unionville is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 2-6 otherwise. Bonsall was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Asher Manning was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Parise, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Coatesville's record now sits at 11-2. As for Unionville, their record is now 5-6.
