Basketball Game Preview: Celeste Blue Devils vs. Whitewright Tigers

The Celeste Blue Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Whitewright Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Celeste is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Celeste had taken Trenton down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 63-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blue Devils have suffered against the Tigers since February 7, 2023.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Whitewright and Wolfe City, and Wolfe City kept the tradition alive. The Tigers took a 40-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves on Friday.

Whitewright's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Celeste, their loss dropped their record down to 16-15.

Celeste strolled past Whitewright in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 53-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
