Volleyball Recap: Winside Gets the Win

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Saturday. Winside walked away with a 2-0 win over Hartington-Newcastle. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Winside also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Winside took both sets by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-9.

Aftyn Schutt paced Winside's offense, picking up four kills. Schutt got some help from Raylyn Behmer and her seven assists. Ellie Topp controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Winside's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Hartington-Newcastle, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Winside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Randolph on the 30th. As for Hartington-Newcastle, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Howells-Dodge on the 30th.
