Preview: Greenwood Rangers vs. Odessa Bronchos
The Greenwood Rangers will be home for the holidays to greet the Odessa Bronchos at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Greenwood slipped by Snyder 59-58. The win was just what Greenwood needed coming off of a 84-63 loss in their prior game.
Tatum Pierce was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points. The match was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ty Presley, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Odessa's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 69-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Abilene. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (59), Odessa still had to take the loss.
Greenwood's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Odessa, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Greenwood didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Odessa when the teams last played back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 67-61 victory. Does Greenwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Odessa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
