Softball Recap: Goodridge/Thief River Falls' Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Goodridge/Thief River Falls dropped their record down to 5-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 10-0 to the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Huskies have suffered against the Rebels since May 5, 2015.

As for Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

For Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton's part, Autumn Leach was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Leach has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Makayla Bjelland was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellie Boyd, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Goodridge/Thief River Falls will look to defend their home field on Monday against Red Lake Falls at 5:00 p.m. As for Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, they will venture away from home to challenge Barnesville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
