Softball Recap: Shepard Comes Up Short

The matchup between Shepard and Lemont on Saturday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Astros fell 13-10 to the Lemont HS. The Astros were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lemont HS apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Shepard now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Lemont, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Shepard will welcome Reavis at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Astros' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Lemont, they have already played their next matchup, an 8-3 defeat against Munster on the 2nd.
