Preview: Humble Christian Cougars vs. Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors
Having just played yesterday, the Humble Christian Cougars will get right back to it and host the Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Humble Christian only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 27-point they dealt Banff on Thursday. Humble Christian simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Banff 58-31 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Humble Christian has posted since November 9, 2023.
Meanwhile, Annapolis Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Founders Classical Academy on Saturday, taking the game 54-47.
Joshua Cavazos continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jake Gwaltney, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds.
Humble Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-7.
Humble Christian was dealt a bruising 64-32 defeat at the hands of Annapolis Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Humble Christian was down 36-14.
