Basketball Game Preview: Taylor Ducks vs. Burnet Bulldogs

The Taylor Ducks will face off against the Burnet Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Taylor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Taylor lost to Gateway College Preparatory at home by a 63-46 margin. The defeat continues a trend for the Ducks in their matchups with the Gators: they've now lost four in a row.

The losing side was boosted by Eli Laurence, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of TJ Whybrew, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Burnet posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They blew past Salado 54-33. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 48-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Taylor's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Burnet, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
