Softball Game Preview: D'Iberville Warriors vs. Poplarville Hornets

D'Iberville and Poplarville are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Warriors will square off against the Hornets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Poplarville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on D'Iberville, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, D'Iberville earned a 4-1 victory over Gulfport. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Admirals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Emma Franklin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, D'Iberville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emerson Hall, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Hall has posted since back in February. Addison Mosley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Poplarville came up short against Bay on Thursday and fell 7-4.

Poplarville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8-1. As for D'Iberville, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
