Volleyball Recap: King's Academy Takes a Loss

King's Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Santa Clara Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

King's Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-23.

Trey Sherman paced King's Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Sherman got some help from Andronico Netto and his 20 assists. Sherman also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Andrew Lam, racking up two apiece.

King's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Santa Clara, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.

King's Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against MacDonald on the 9th. As for Santa Clara, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Palo Alto at 6:45 p.m. on the 21st.
