Volleyball Recap: Weed Extends Winning Streak to Three

Weed hadn't done well against Yreka recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Miners 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three matches in a row.

Weed had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Weed's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Yreka, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.

Yreka didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Central Valley on the 23rd. Hopefully Weed paid attention to the Miners' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Miners at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
