Recap: John Jay Wolves vs. Summit Academy Eagles
If the John Jay Wolves were riding high off their 66-10 takedown of the Roosevelt Cougars last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. John Jay fell to Summit Academy 53-48.
Summit Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sariah Gammon, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Gammon hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Freeman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
John Jay's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Summit Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.
John Jay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Summit Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-37 loss vs. East New York Family Academy on the 12th.
