Basketball Recap: Twiggs Academy Comes Up Short

Twiggs Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Fullington Academy, falling 55-32. If Twiggs Academy was looking for revenge after losing 55-29 to Fullington Academy when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Fullington Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Garlan Godfrey led the charge by putting up 17 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Those 17 points gave Godfrey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Bloodworth, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Twiggs Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Twiggs Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 99-44 loss against Milledgeville Athletic Club on the 20th. As for Fullington Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 68-19 defeat against Rock Springs Christian Academy on the 20th.
