Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kasson-Mantorville). They breezed by the Winona Winhawks to the tune of 70-26 on Friday. Given the Komets' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Winhawks are ranked 385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Kasson-Mantorville and bumps their season record up to 7-4. As for Winona, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Kasson-Mantorville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against John Marshall at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. John Marshall knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Kasson-Mantorville likes a good challenge. As for Winona, they will head out on the road to take on Faribault at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
