Rochester is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Breese Central is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Rockets will host the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rochester knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Breese Central likes a good challenge.

Rochester's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kaiden Stout, who gained 132 total yards and a touchdown, and Khordell Gregory, who rushed for 38 yards and two scores. What's more, Gregory racked up 25 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in August. Khorbin Gregory got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Breese Central made easy work of Cahokia on Saturday and carried off a 36-12 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Rochester better keep an eye on Cole Davis. He was instrumental in Breese Central's win, rushing for 154 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 52 receiving yards and one touchdown. Davis was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Another player making a difference was Owen Kehrer, who rushed for 85 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Breese Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cahokia only rushed for 98.
One reason for the win was Breese Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Ezekial Matthews refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Jackson Kampwerth was another major factor on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making 15 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Rochester's record now sits at 11-1. As for Breese Central, their record is now an identical 11-1.
Saturday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Stout and Davis. Stout just won't slow down this season and has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 88.8 rushing yards per game. Davis has been a dominant force too and has run in 22 touchdowns while averaging 98.3 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for Rochester against Breese Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 49-13 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Cougars' Preston Baker, who rushed for 93 yards on only ten carries, and also threw for 161 yards and one TD. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for the Rockets to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
