Baseball Recap: Broomfield's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Broomfield saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They fell 8-3 to the Millennium Tigers. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Broomfield got a good showing from Jameson Clegg, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Broomfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendan Fritch, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Jake Orvis also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Broomfield's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2. As for Millennium, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broomfield will head out to square off against Mountain Pointe at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Millennium, they will venture away from home to take on Corona del Sol at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
