Baseball Recap: Jackson-Reed Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Jackson-Reed got themselves on the board against Southern Maryland Christian Academy on Saturday, but Southern Maryland Christian Academy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Mustangs. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by eight runs or more this season.

Jackson-Reed got a great performance from Simon Corbin as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Corbin has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jackson Loomis was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those runs were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ben Shapiro, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
