Baseball Recap: Bellefonte Drops Highest Score of Season Against Greater Johnstown

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bellefonte). Everything went their way against the Greater Johnstown Trojans on Friday as they made off with a 13-3 win. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Carsen Henry made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Bellefonte let Peyton Vancas and Braeden Fortney run wild. Vancas scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Fortney scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Vancas is becoming a predictor of Bellefonte's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Evan Mattern, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Bellefonte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Bellefonte's record now sits at 3-4. As for Greater Johnstown, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.
