Basketball Recap: Odessa Comes Up Short

Odessa lost against Wellpinit back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Odessa Tigers took a blow against the Wellpinit Redskins, falling 80-37. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Redskins are ranked 64th).

Odessa has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Wellpinit, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Odessa Tigers duke it out with the Valley Christian Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wellpinit has already played their next game (against Odessa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
