Basketball Recap: Fredericksburg Christian Eagles vs. Christchurch School Seahorses
The Fredericksburg Christian Eagles entered their tilt with the Christchurch School Seahorses with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Fredericksburg Christian walked away with a 68-59 victory over the Seahorses on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fredericksburg Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christan Smith, who scored 20 points. It was the first time this season that Smith scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Carter Johnson, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Fredericksburg Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Christchurch School, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.
Fredericksburg Christian will be playing at home against the Conquistadors at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Seton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Virginia (the Conquistadors are ranked 36th, while the Eagles are ranked 168th). Christchurch School's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th.
