Soccer Game Preview: Chowchilla vs. Riverdale

The Chowchilla Tribe will face off against the Riverdale Cowboys at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Friday, Chowchilla came up short against Parlier and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Riverdale kept a clean sheet against Liberty on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Hawks 1-0. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Hawks are ranked 901st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Riverdale pushed their record up to 11-5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Chowchilla, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4-3 record this season.

Chowchilla suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Riverdale in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Chowchilla avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
