Softball Recap: All S Saints vs. Trinity Christian Lions

All S lost to Trinity Christian on Friday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Saints were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Lions. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Heidi Peterson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jessica Cliffe was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Aubrey Greer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

All S was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

All S' record is now 8-4-1. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9-1.

Coincidentally, All S and Trinity Christian will both be playing Midland Christian the next time they take the field. The Saints will head out to face the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Lions will host them at 5:00 p.m. on the 15th.
